School Council Visit to the Mayor's Parlour

The School Council visited the Workington Mayor’s Parlour last Friday. The Councillors received a talk about the role of the Mayor in the Town Council and their civic duties. The current Mayor is Councillor Janet King. The School Council found the visit very informative and learnt about how local government works and a lot about the history of the post and of Workington itself.
