This week we had our summer trip to Muncaster castle which was great fun. We loved seeing all the owls, playing in the woods and exploring the castle and the maze.
We also had our innovate challenge. This was to bake a loaf of bread to sell in our farm shop that had been enriched with 2 other ingredients. The children learnt about the ingredients, read the labels and chose what they wanted to use.
Later we went and met our lovely cook who helped us make our loaves. We kneaded and proved together. When baked we labelled, halved each loaf, shared and tried each others and discussed which we liked and why. We then gave thanks for our friends and for all the famers who had helped in the growing of our ingredients.
I am exceedingly proud of the kindness shown by all of our students and their talent as bread makers.
