Today we visited Harrington Nature Reserve as part of our Geography field trip and to begin our Science focused "Stems, Stalks and Stings" topic. Raegan, a wildlife officer, who protects the wildlife and green spaces, gave us a guided tour through the reserve and up to the meadow. She explained that the reserve has changed a lot recently and due to her amazing work it is now home to weasels, kingfishers and otters!
To extend our understanding of habitats, Raegan challenged the children to create homes for the wildlife in the reserve. The groups explained their choices and how it would benefit the animal. We hope to return in summer to see a different selection of wildlife and the seasonal changes.
