At Beckstone, each class chooses two children to represent them on our school council. We began this democratic process by campaigning for votes. Each child who chose to stand in our election, gave a short speech to say why they would be the ideal candidate. We all listened very carefully.
When we had heard all the candidates speak, we held a secret ballot. We wrote the names of the two children we thought would represent us well on a piece of paper and put it in the ballot box.
Our winning candidates were George and Jack. We are all proud of them and we know they will both make excellent councillors.
