We visited Harrington Nature Reserve as part of our new topic ‘Stems, Stalks and Stings’. Raegan gave us a tour of the reserve and told us all about the animals that lived there. We particularly liked listening to the adventures of Barney the swan, who had been on a very busy journey. Raegan told us about all of the changes within the reserve over the past few years and we couldn’t believe how beautiful and different it looked! After our tour, we were set a challenge in groups to make a habitat for an animal of our choice. We used leaves, twigs and even pine cones to make our habitats as comfortable as possible for the animals.
We are hoping to return in summer to see how much the weather has affected the wildlife in the reserve.
