Outside Classroom Day

Reception had a great day outside for National Outdoor Classroom Day.

They explored all 7 areas of learning applying what they had learned inside, outside.

One of the favourite activities of the day was the physical moving of the sand into the sandpit.
This develops gross motor skills, hand-eye co-ordination and collaboration skills.

Another favourite was the mud kitchen.

The children explored lots of different scientific concepts and used their spoken language to talk about and explain to others what was happening.

Some children made up their own maths games too, wrote labels and signs and looked for minibeasts.

We had footballs skills and bat and ball skills on the field too.

We all had a fantastic day learning outside.
