Purim Baking
This half term
we are learning about Jewish celebrations.
We learned all about the story of Esther and the ways Jewish people
celebrate Purim.
Mrs Armstrong kindly taught us how to make Hamantaschen biscuits,
which are often eaten at Purim.
The shape represents the hat of Haman, a character in the story.
Firstly we rolled out the dough and used a cutter to make circle
shapes.
Then we put jam in the middle and added a little bit of water around
the edges.
Next we did the tricky part! We had to shape the biscuits into hat
shapes.
After that Mrs Armstrong put the biscuits into the oven to bake.
Finally, we ate the biscuits!
They were very
tasty and we had plenty to take home for our friends and family.
