The water buffalo is being questioned by the tiger as to why he works for the man?

   

   

The tiger is asking the man for his wisdom.

The man is tying the tiger to a tree/ fence to stop him eating his goats while the man goes home to fetch his wisdom.

   

The man is leading the water buffalo, who is pulling a cart full of straw, back to the tiger.

   

The man has laid the straw around the tiger, set it on fire so the tiger is rolling around to get free of the fire.

The rope he was tied with chars his fur and gives him his stripes.
