Forest School

We went to our first forest school session and listened carefully to Emma when she explained what we were going
to do and how to stay safe and listen.

We collected lots of leaves on our walk.

Emma tied red ribbons around our forest work area to show the boundary in which it was safe to work.

We found some mini-beasts and a habitat.

We got into small groups and sorted our leaves, some were small, medium, large, long and thin. Some were sorted by colours, red, yellow and brown.

We found a very special letter in one of the trees, it was from the Pixie King and Fairy Queen of the forest.

To Reception children from Beckstone Primary School,

I am writing on behalf of all the Pixies and Fairies that
live here at Harrington Nature Reserve. Welcome! We
are very pleased to have you here. We hope you enjoy
exploring this wonderful place and helping us to care for
it.

To say thank you for visiting we have left you all a gift.
It is a very special Woodland Crown. All you have to do is
Decorate it from things you find around the woodland.
Whenever you wear it, it will remind you how special
Harrington Nature Reserve is.

Many thanks,

The Pixie King and the Fairy Queen
