A Trip to the Moon
Our class text this term, "The invention of Hugo Cabret" is filled with magic and mystery. Georges Méliès is the owner of the toy shop that Hugo Cabret often steals from. He used to be a filmmaker until World War I, when his movies fell into oblivion.
We discovered that Georges Méliès was a real person! In fact, he was a French illusionist, actor and film director.
The book includes fascinating images from his silent movie "A trip to the moon". We were able to watch this and express our opinion on the movie like a film critic.
