5LJ Highwayman Performance

This week, 5LJ have been working really hard in their preparations for performing the narrative poem, The Highwayman by Alfred Noyes, which we’ve been studying this term. Leading up to this, we’ve explored the definitions and figurative meanings of the words and phrases within the text. The children had two mornings to practice and perform. This meant that the children were able to give feedback to each other, therefore they were able to work on and improve upon their weaknesses.

As you can see, the children worked in small groups and each had a role in their piece of the poem. They made good use of the instruments available to interpret the poem too. As you can imagine, we’ve had a very noisy couple of mornings - but also heaps of fun to go with it!
