Here are some photos of the children in year 3 and 4 making papyrus paper. We learned that papyrus was what the Ancient Egyptians wrote on, like we use paper.
We used real pieces of papyrus plant to make our own. First we had to soak the strips of papyrus in water, then squeeze them out using a rolling pin. Then we layed them out in rows. After that the papyrus was left to dry with big heavy boxes on top of it!
