Collage Crosses

This term in RE we have been learning about religious symbols.

We have learned how light is a symbol in many religions.

We also learned about the symbolism of the Seder meal for Jews.

We learned about the significance of some Christian symbols such as the dove with an olive branch and the cross.

After that we also looked at some stained glass windows in churches which feature crosses.

We have been learning to collage this week by creating collage stained glass crosses.

We used our cutting skills to cut out the cross first, which was very challenging!

Then we chose which coloured tissue paper we wanted and ripped it up into smaller pieces.

Finally, we used PVA glue to attach the tissue paper and make the crosses look shiny.

Here are some of our finished crosses.
