Testing Our Houses

Today we finished off the house designs by adding a roof.

All agreed that a flat roof would not be a suitable choice, so opted for a raised structure.

The children used ArtStraws to provide support.

Each group was then given a material to create a house roof.

Each group then tested their prediction - "My design is (not) waterproof".

Under each house was some dry tissue paper.

The children used spray bottles and watering cans to simulate different rainfalls.

Before lifting the house, each children made a prediction - The tissue paper will (not) be dry.

The results and reactions were equally brilliant.
