Anderson Shelters

This half term we have been learning about the effect of World War Two on people in Britain.
We learned about the different types of shelters people built to protect themselves.

The Learning Challenge was to create model Anderson shelters.
There were no rules except that the children had to design their shelters before they built them and work together to create their model.

Then the children chose their materials from the table - there were lots of different materials and each pair had to decide what they wanted to use. We discussed which materials worked best and reflected on what we could do differently to make an even better model.

Here are our finished models!
