Judaism: Yom Kippur

Yom Kippur, also known as the day of atonement, is the holiest day of the Jewish calendar. It is a day to reflect on the past year and ask for God's forgiveness for anything you might have done wrong. This is because in the Jewish faith, on Yom Kippur, God decides what the next 12 months will be like for everyone.

Jews mark the day of Yom Kippur by fasting for 25 hours. We learnt that at the end of their fast they usually eat something light, so we tried some of these foods which they would have. As you can see, the children really enjoyed this treat!
