discussed PTA Accounts. We started the financial year with a balance of £3202.26
and ended with a healthy balance of £3974.02. This is a fantastic achievement
taking into consideration the following purchases/donations £1500 for KS1
equipment, £350 Olympic Medals and £237 for Nativity Costumes; these were made
in addition to our regular contributions towards Year 6 leaving gifts.
These contributions were made possible following amongst other events a successful Christmas Fair which generated £1325.41; Christmas Raffle Ticket Sales of £728.29 and a fantastic sponsored event which raised £1293.70. Although the income from some of these events was not as high as in previous years it was still a fantastic achievement considering the present financial climate.
Mrs Hardy has applied for a Gift Aid Tax refund of approximately £220 in relation to the sponsored event.
Mrs Hardy is to organise flowers for Mrs Brown who audited our accounts this year.
The PTA would again like to say a BIG Thank you to Mrs Hardy for all her hard work as Treasurer.
Fundraising and Expenditure
Members discussed at length the possibility of ordering Tea Towels, Canvas Bags or Mugs personalised with portraits from pupils, due to the time required to organise this and the number of children involved it was decided to investigate the possibility of purchasing blank canvas bags and allow each child to create their own bag which would have the school logo on one side and their unique design on the other. Mrs Bagley is to look into costings and discuss at our next meeting.
Mrs Lowery suggested introducing a Coloured Sand stall at our next Christmas Fair, children can create necklaces and animals using the sand and this has proved popular at other external events.
suggested a Cup Cake Icing stall at our Christmas Fair and this suggestion was
popular with members.
Raffle Tickets for Christmas Fair to be organised by Mrs Scott.
£100, ticket to be printed as last year with a draw date of Monday 17th December
Mrs Henderson has received quotes from CPS in relation to an extension for the existing stage of £1827 (this will not go under the current stage) and a new stage plus extension which would cost £5597 (this includes £1827 for the extension). Further quotes are to be obtained from Grumpy Joe for a new stage and extension which would push underneath. This will be discussed further at our next meeting.
