MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY 5TH MAY 2009

Minutes of Last Meeting
last meeting we held a successful Bingo evening the proceeds of which
will be detailed in the Treasurers Report.
The Pirate Ship is nearing completion and Nursery is to hold a Pirate Party to celebrate its "launch" on 19th May. Pupils from the school were invited to choose a name for the ship. Members of the PTA chose the name "The Jolly Beckstone" entered by Alicia Pearson Year 5.
The PTA Account balance is currently £4,697 which includes a further £250 donation from the Royal Bank of Scotland and net proceeds of £238 from our Bingo Night.
Donations of £500 each were made to Rock Challenge and Multi Cultural Week. We also spent £126 on Year 6 leavers dictionaries and £57.06 on Easter egg/bonnet competition prizes.

Key Stage 2 is to run round the school field in fancy dress.
Sponsor forms have already been handed out to pupils.

is £1,573.18 and the PTA were happy to fund the entire wish list.

Car Boot Sale to be held on Saturday 4th July on Beckstone Primary School Car Park (in School Halls if wet). Entry cost of £5 per car (places to be pre-booked with School secretary) 20p for visitors.

Amy Scott to design a poster with details. To be Advertised on School Website, local businesses, Supermarkets and Border on the Wall.
Sports Day Raffle to be run by PTA all proceeds to School Fund. Volunteers from PTA required! Mr Warbrick is to make a request for Raffle Prizes.
There is concern regarding the small number of members now in the PTA. Various suggestions to increase numbers were made including a flyer to be handed out with details of the PTA at Nursery Home visits and our AGM to be organized on the same day as a Meet the Teacher/Parent briefing. To be discussed in more detail at our next meeting.

Our next meeting is to be held on Tuesday 30th June at 6 pm to discuss the Car Boot Sale and AGM in September.
