MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON 16 January 2007

 AT BECKSTONE PRIMARY SCHOOL

Matters Arising

 

Further to discussions held at our last meeting Mrs Henderson has applied for a Grant in connection with the Walking Bus Scheme, this will continue for three years if successful.

 

 

Treasurers Report

 

Mrs Hardy discussed the income and expenditure sheet showing a balance of £3,588.40.  The Christmas Fair raised £1,275 and the Raffle raised £1,000 (the raffle proceeds are to be donated to Rock Challenge as agreed at our last meeting).

 

 

Fund Raising   

 

*We are to hold a Bunny Drive on 21st March at 6pm cost of admission £1 per person. Refreshments of Tea, Coffee, Juice, Crisps and Biscuits on sale.  Prizes for Best Adult (wine) and Best Child Score (Easter Egg).  Also prizes for worst Adult and Worst Child Score (cream eggs).

 

*Mr Warbrick to organise a Raffle to be held on the evening 20p per ticket, £1 per strip, raffle prizes to be requested in next newsletter.

 

*Bingo to be held with a cash prize of half the proceeds of bingo tickets sold.

 

*Throw money at the bottle game for children - nearest 20p wins bottle of celebration chocolates.  Mrs Finnigan to organise refreshments and prizes.

 

 

Easter:

 

*Easter Bunny raffle to be held Mr Warbrick to discuss with Mrs Clark

*KS1  Bring in a decorated Egg

*KS2  Decorate an Egg at school

*PTA to provide 11 prizes to be purchased by Mrs Finnigan

 

*Mr Finlay is to complete a 32 mile sponsored run from Workington to Keswick he has kindly pledged half of the proceeds raised to the PTA fund!  Sponsor Forms are to be left throughout the school.

 

 

Sponsored Event

 

To be held week commencing 21st May this will probably be a sponsored obstacle course as last year's was so successful.

 

 

Expenditure       

Dictionaries to be provided for Year 6 leavers.

Mrs Bagley's request for £400 for playground decorations was agreed.

 

Other Business

Mrs Finlay to complain to the council re the Reception Class Door which is an extreme hazard in the wind.
