MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY 13th APRIL 2010

Mrs Scott recorded the minutes of
Mrs Hardy discussed the accounts showing a balance of £7152.80 this includes a profit of £87.50 from our Quiz night (after a deduction of £45.50 to purchase refreshments and Easter Competition Prizes).
A total of £1600 is still to be
deducted for previously agreed expenditure (lighting and play equipment).
Thank you to everyone who helped with purchasing and refreshments at our Quiz Night !!
To be held the week commencing 17th May, this year the children are to complete an obstacle course.
Sponsor forms to be distributed early May and proceeds to be collected before half term.
Mrs Finlay to purchase 324 mixed
Due to the fantastic parent attendance at the annual sports day event the PTA have agreed to organise an ADULT refreshment stall selling tea and coffee or fruit juice (50p each).
PTA members are also to sell
raffle tickets at this event the proceeds of which will go to the school fund.
Mrs Scott has submitted a request for £250 in relation to the Royal Bank of Scotland Community Cashback Award. These funds are allocated to staff members who are involved in community organizations.
Mrs Routledge has requested a donation of £200 on behalf of the After School Club to run a “What’s Cooking?" experience. This will allow 6 children to take part in 5 fun weekly cooking sessions. The children will not only learn to cook but be coached in healthy eating and food hygiene during these sessions.
£150 has already been secured from a local business towards equipment.
The PTA were happy to agree to
Mrs Walker requested funding to help with Beckstone’s 2010 Rock Challenge entry. In order to improve on the standards already set by the school in previous years; and due to rising costs (£200 entry fee, £50 +vat to use music in addition to the cost of costumes, hair and make up) extra funding is required to boost the proceeds to be made from the fundraising events already organized (children are to organise a Bring and Buy Sale and Mrs Walker has organized a Music Quiz Night on Friday 21st May at The Galloping Horse).
A donation of £500 was agreed by
Any Other Business
The children are to take part in a
St George’s Day Parade on Friday 23rd April at 9.30am (weather permitting) KS1
and Nursery Children are to dress as St George and Dragons, KS2 children are to
represent other areas of the world that make up our modern multi racial society.
The PTA are to organise a Fun Day on Wednesday 14th July details of which will be discussed at our next meeting.
