Debbie’s roving circle time is carried out on a regular basis throughout the term and visits each class across the school. The purpose is to share stories with the children which have a link to emotional well-being, e.g. worries, loneliness and the next book is about a plethora of feelings.
So far it has been highly successful with a very positive feedback from both the staff and the children. The stories have encouraged children to reflect on their own emotional well-being and act on it accordingly by sharing their feelings with a staff member and their parents/carers.
Emotional well-being is being highlighted throughout the country and there is a big push on primary schools to recognise and use early interventions to ensure that all children’s needs are being met.
